Following a brief reveal during the PS5 presentation last week, Gearbox Publishing and Counterplay Games have now unveiled new official gameplay footage from its PlayStation 5 and PC title “Godfall”.
Dubbed a “first-of-its-kind, looter-slasher, melee action-RPG,” the game takes place on the world of Aperion – a world on the precipice of ruin. You are the last of the Valorian knights, god-like warriors able to equip Valorplates, legendary armor sets that transform wielders into masters of melee combat.
Tear through foes as you climb through each of the elemental realms and challenge the mad god, Macros who awaits you at the top. The game supports single player and up to three players in drop-in drop-out cooperative mode.
The two clips show off what gameplay looks like on both PS5 and PC, and unexpectedly the PS5 version seems to have a smoother frame rate. “Godfall” is currently set for a Holiday 2020 release and so will likely be a launch or near-launch title for the PS5.
