Baba Yaga VR
“Star Wars” actress Daisy Ridley will lead “Baba Yaga,” a new VR project from Baobab Studios. The viewer plays the main character of a dark and mystic fairytale in which their choices impact the ending of the story.

Users will follow their ten-year-old sister Magda (Ridley) as the two girls search a magical forest for a plant that can cure their mother’s sickness, but must be wary of the witch who lives there, Baba Yaga. Baobab Studios’ VR works often translate to a traditional 2D format as well. [Variety]

Not Without Hope
Miles Teller is set to play the lone survivor of a real-life 2009 boating tragedy in “Not Without Hope” which Russell Wilson and Ciara will executive produce. Directed by Rupert Wainwright (“Stigmata”), the film is based on the best-selling novel of the same name by Nick Schuyler and Jere Longman.

E. Nicholas Mariani adapted the script for the story about four friends, including two NFL players, who set off for a day trip to their favorite fishing spot 70 miles out in the Gulf of Mexico. As a severe storm headed their way, a trapped anchor and a tragic mistake in trying to free it caused the boat to capsize, throwing the four violently into the freezing water. [Source: THR]
