BBC To Show Scorsese Lockdown Short

The BBC has announced that an upcoming episode of “Lockdown Culture with Mary Beard” on BBC Two will include a new short film from director Martin Scorsese.

The short film is part of the final episode of Mary Beard’s series which focuses on the effect of lockdown on culture and creativity. Not much is known about the format of the short or what it is called, but is said to be: “an exclusive and very personal film from Martin Scorsese, who reflects on the meaning of lockdown from his home in New York City.”

Scorsese has done numerous shorts throughout his career with Criterion recently releasing a new disc that collects five of his early shorts. Other filmmakers like Spike Lee, Michel Gondry and David F. Sandberg have also shot and released new shorts during the lockdown.

It’s not known if the network will make the Scorsese short film available online.
