Square Enix’s “Final Fantasy VII” remake has set new records – scoring not only the launch month sales record for the franchise, but also becoming April 2020’s best-selling game. The title beat out “Call of Duty: Modern Warfare” and “Animal Crossing: New Horizons” in a month in which digital video game spending hit a record high – topping $10.5 billion worldwide. The Kissing Booth 2
The sequel to Netflix’s popular teen rom-com “The Kissing Booth” has been set for a July 24th premiere. Joey King, Joel Courtney and Jacob Elordi return for the new film which follows King’s character, a high schooler who runs into trouble when she starts to fall for her best friend’s older brother. The Willoughbys
Netflix’s animated feature “The Willoughbys” was watched by 37.6 million households in its first month on the platform. The project is the second original film from the streamer’s animation division which aims to provide family content. With a 90% fresh rating, it is also the best-reviewed animated title of the year so far. [Source: THR]

Disney+ has posted a trailer for their newest Pixar SparkShorts short film “Out,” which broaches the uncomfortable subject of coming out to one’s parents. The project boasts the first LGBTQ+ main character in a Pixar work with the short to be available on the Disney+ service from tomorrow.

Dear…
Apple has released the first trailer for the Apple TV+ docuseries “Dear…” which hails from Emmy-winning filmmaker R.J. Cutler. The first season premieres June 5th and profiles ten famous people across a range of fields – showcasing how one person’s story can change the world through the people whose lives they’ve inspired.

Spike Lee, Oprah Winfrey, Gloria Steinem, Lin-Manuel Miranda, Yara Shahidi, Stevie Wonder, Aly Raisman, Misty Copeland, and Big Bird all star in the first season recounting their own stories of struggle and how they beat the odds.
