Marc Guggenheim has been hired to pen the script for “Jackpot,” a film about a guilt-ridden crime fighting mom with exceptional strength based on the Marvel Comics title and setup at Sony Pictures as part of the SPUMC like “Venom” and “Morbius”.
Guggenheim, who has written episodes of that comic series alongside Brian Reed, has an extensive background in comic adaptations on the “Arrow” and “DC’s Legends of Tomorrow” series. Recently he was hired to adapt Image Comics title “Prophet”.
The project is different to the S.J. Clarkson-helmed one also set in the SPUMC and is expected to focus on Madame Web. The “Jackpot” project on the other hand was first announced back in 2018 as being potentially in development.
