Hulu’s Interface Gets A Major Redesign

Hulu’s infamously clunky user interface is getting a major overhaul with a redesign that is rolling out from today starting with Apple TV and Roku devices.

The company is planning a more standardized user interface more akin to Disney+ and featuring collections laid out vertically within the Home screen. Tiles within the collections are laid out horizontally, in scrollable rows.

Hulu will also simplify its top-level navigation, moving categories to the top of the screen to make it easier for users to drill down into the type of content they watch. Hulu has one of the largest available libraries of content with 41,370 hours – behind only Amazon Prime (63,570 hours) and ahead of Netflix (36,090 hours).

The changes follow Hulu’s first big redesign in 2017, one that overcomplicated the user interface making it slow and difficult to navigate.
