Michael Bay and former Paramount Pictures production chief Adam Goodman’s production company Invisible Narratives are teaming to produce the pandemic thriller “Songbird”.
Adam Mason (“Into The Dark”) direct and co-writes with Simon Boyes (“Misconduct”), and the low budget project will begin production within five weeks. “Songbird” could well be the first film to shoot in Los Angeles since the COVID-19 crisis shut down major production.
Said to be a thriller along “Paranormal Activity” and “Cloverfield” lines, the story takes place two years in the future and the pandemic has not gone away. Lockdowns have been rolled back and then reinstated and it becomes even more serious as the virus continues to mutate.
Cue governmental conspiracies, paranoia and lockdown-induced mental breakdowns. Casting is underway now and the filmmakers are reportedly providing remote training for the actors. They have also reportedly screened their plans with the guilds and have been given approval to go forward.
Eben Davidson, Jeanette Volturno, Jason Clark, Marcei Brown, Jessica Malanaphy and Rick A. Osako all produce.
