Burton Returns For “Star Trek: Picard” S2?

Speaking with Entertainment Tonight recently, actor LeVar Burton addressed the possibility of him returning to his iconic role of U.S.S. Enterprise-D engineer Geordi La Forge in the upcoming second season of CBS All Access’ “Star Trek: Picard”.

Burton confirmed to the outlet he is set to reprise his role along with other “Star Trek: The Next Generation” alums, even as discussions with producer Alex Kurtzman are still taking place.

Burton didn’t appear in the first season earlier this year, and hasn’t been mentioned for the possibility before now:

“How do I say this without getting in trouble… I think that is reasonable to assume that those people are still a part of Picard”s life and – sure, what the hell – yeah, absolutely! You’ll see us all, probably not all at the same time but, you know, never say never.”

Geordi La Forge made his first appearance in the TNG pilot. Blind since birth, he uses a VISOR and later artificial eyes to allow him to see. The second season of “Star Trek: Picard” will shoot this year for a 2021 debut.
