Netflix’s Mark Wahlberg-led original film “Spenser Confidential” was reportedly a big hit for the streaming giant.
According to Nielsen, time spent on streaming platforms in mid-March increased by 34% to 156.1 billion minutes for the month, that’s ahead of the 25% jump regular television has seen over the same period and 50% more than the viewership of last year for the same weekend.
‘Spenser’ on its own was the most-streamed program during that middle-of-March week, pulling in 1.25 billion minutes of viewing. Runner-up was “The Office” on Netflix.
Netflix still holds the biggest share of the streaming market as of this month with 29% compared to YouTube (20%), Hulu (10%) and Amazon (9%).
