Adult Swim’s animated series “Rick and Morty” is currently on hiatus, having aired the first five episodes of its ten episode fourth season late 2019 with the remainder coming sometime this year.
To keep fans excited during the wait, a new six-minute short film has been released that re-imagines the series as a straight up samurai tale with the two titular characters thrown into the mix. Added bonus, it’s all in Japanese.
The project was created by Studio Deen who is behind anime such as the “Junji Ito Collection” and “Ranma 1/2” with Kaichi Sato penning the script and directing. Yohei Tadano and Keisuke Chiba provide the voices.
The fourth season of Rick and Morty is currently on hiatus, with the rest of the episodes set to premiere sometime this year on Adult Swim.
