Microsoft briefly appeared to announce a Thanksgiving 2020 launch date for its next-generation console, the Xbox Series X, on its company’s website earlier today.
That has since been corrected with Microsoft telling THR in a statement: “An Xbox product page in some regions inaccurately listed the launch date for Xbox Series X as Thanksgiving 2020. We are committed to launching Holiday 2020.”
The company appears adamant about having a console out this year, even with the current pandemic crisis, as rumors swirled earlier this week of delays of both it and the PS5 to 2021.
Xbox was set to host a preview event this week at San Francisco’s Game Developers Conference but the event was postponed, instead a teardown of the new console was revealed earlier this week while the PS5 unveiled its specs earlier today. Neither console has announced a price as yet.
