Along with the big Marvel’s “Black Widow” delay, several other smaller films are also shifting about on the release schedule.
Armando Iannucci’s Dickens adaptation “The Personal History of David Copperfield” starring Dev Patel, and the Joe Wright-directed Amy Adams-led psychological thriller “The Woman in the Window” have both been delayed by Disney who acquired both films in its Fox acquisition.
‘Copperfield’ was slated for limited release on May 8th, while ‘Woman’ was going to open wide on May 15th. Neither film has set a new release date.
A24 has decided to mooooove Kelly Reichardt’s acclaimed period drama “First Cow” to a date later in 2020. The film opened this past weekend in several cities but with such a low box-office haul, the company has opted to pull the film and will release it again later in the year – committed to sticking to a theatrical run.
Finally, Well Go USA has postponed the release date for RZA’s crime drama “Cut Throat City” which was originally set to hit theaters on April 10th but has been now moved to a TBD 2020 date. Shameik Moore, Tip T.I. Harris, Wesley Snipes, Terrence Howard and Ethan Hawke star in the story of a heist in post-Hurricane Katrina.
