“Lucifer” Star Sets Deal For Sixth Season

Actor Tom Ellis has reportedly finalized a new deal to stay on the title role of Netflix’s “Lucifer” for a potential sixth season – even as the forthcoming fifth season was previously announced as the final one.

Said extension effectively clears the way for the series to score a renewal at the streamer following reports last week co-showrunners Ildy Modrovich and Joe Henderson had set new sixth season deals.

Ellis’ co-stars have existing deals that carry them through a sixth season already, so it was ultimately only Ellis left to secure.

Netflix previously released a ten-episode fourth season in May last year all in one go. The fifth season, currently in its final weeks of production, will consist of sixteen episodes to air in two separate, eight-episode chunks.

No episode count for a sixth season has been announced but it will likely follow the same pattern as the fifth – which means ultimately at least 32 more episodes to air.
