Australian actor Ashley Zukerman has been cast in the titular role of Harvard symbologist Robert Langdon in NBC’s drama pilot “Langdon” from CBS Television Studios and Universal Television.
Based on Dan Brown’s best-selling book “The Lost Symbol,” the only one of the four books not previously adapted for the big screen by director Ron Howard and actor Tom Hanks, the series follows a younger version of Langdon who must solve a series of deadly puzzles across Washington D.C. to save his kidnapped mentor and thwart a global conspiracy.
Zukerman got his start on Australian series “The Code,” “Rush” and “Underbelly” before popping up in U.S. shows like “Manhattan,” “Succession,” “Designated Survivor,” “Masters of Sex” and “Fear the Walking Dead”.
Dan Dworkin and Jay Beattie will write and executive produce the series with Brown, Ron Howard, Brian Grazer, Anna Culp, and Samie Falvey also executive producing. Dan Trachtenberg will executive produce and direct the pilot.
