Schnetzer Is Yorick In FX’s “Y: The Last Man”

“Goat,” “Pride” and “Warcraft” star Ben Schnetzer is set to take over the lead role of Yorick Brown in FX’s series “Y,” based on Brian K. Vaughan and Pia Guerra’s acclaimed comic book series “Y: The Last Man”.

In the story, Yorick and his helper monkey, Ampersand, are the lone male mammals to survive an apocalyptic plague which suddenly wipes out everything with a Y chromosome. As women inherit the Earth, the secret of Yorick’s survival may give humanity a second chance for survival.

Diane Lane costars in the series as Yorick’s mother Senator Jennifer Brown, Imogen Poots is his sister Hero, Lashana Lynch is his bodyguard Agent 355. Juliana Canfield, Marin Ireland, and Amber Tamblyn also star.

Eliza Clark serves as showrunner on the show which will be executive produced by Melina Matsoukas. Matsoukas has signed on to direct the pilot episode, but the network has yet to set a date for the series.
