Filming for Matt Reeves’ “The Batman” has begun in the Scottish city of Glasgow, with new images and even video showing up of a stuntman decked out in Robert Pattinson’s new Batman suit in real world lighting conditions.
Shooting took place at the Necropolis cemetery near Glasgow Cathedral and Glasgow Royal Infirmary on Friday and road closures are in place until Sunday in spots around the town.
The production comes to the Scottish city for the new Warner Bros and DC Comics movie being released next year, with road closures in place until Sunday. As rehearsals progressed, the costumed man wiped away rain from his googles.
This explains why Matt Reeves shared a first look at the suit in a video last week, the clip unveiling the Batsuit on his own terms as opposed to paparazzi photos like these.
Reeves recently hinted that the film will draw inspiration from the ‘Year One’ comic storyline, while the production recently put out a casting call for extras and actors with circus skills.
“The Batman” opens June 2021.
