Carl Lumbly Joins “Falcon & The Winter Soldier”

“Supergirl” and “Alias” alum Carl Lumbly has joined the cast of “The Falcon and The Winter Soldier” at Marvel Studios and the Disney+ streaming service.

Lumbly’s role has not been revealed though there’s already speculation he could be playing Isaiah Bradley, a super serum ‘alternate Captain America’ who was the product of clandestine experiments on African-American soldiers.

Lumbly has recently been playing the father of J’onn J’onzz, aka the Martian Manhunter, on The CW’s “Supergirl: recently. He also voiced the Martian Manhunter in the animated “Justice League” series, was one of the first African American leading man superheroes in the short-lived TV series “M.A.N.T.I.S.,” and took on the role of Dick Halloran in last year’s “Doctor Sleep”.

Lumbly joins a cast that includes Anthony Mackie as Sam Wilson/Falcon, Sebastian Stan as Bucky Barnes/Winter Soldier, Emily VanCamp as Sharon Carter, Daniel Bruhl as Zemo, and Wyatt Russell as John Walker/U.S. Agent.

Filming on “The Falcon and The Winter Soldier” is underway in Atlanta and the series is slated to premiere on the subscription streaming service in August.
