The BBC and Amazon Studios are teaming for “The Offenders,” a six-part series from “The Office” co-creator Stephen Merchant, and “Mayans M.C.” co-creator Elgin James.
Set in Bristol, the story will follow a group of seven strangers from different walks of life who are forced to together to complete a community payback scheme and protect one of their number from a dangerous gang.
Merchant will direct and co-star in the series which is dubbed “part crime thriller, character study, and a state-of-the-nation commentary with humor and heart”.
Four Eyes and Big Talk will produce for BBC One in the UK and Amazon in the U.S., Canada, and Australia.
