Awkwafina has signed on to star in the fantasy adventure “The Last Adventure of Constance Verity” at Legendary.
Based on the book by A. Lee Martinez, she will play ass-kicking detective Constance Verity who is destined to save the world. Tired of her lot in life as Earth’s saviour since she was seven, she longs for a normal life. John Raffo penned the spec script.
The “Crazy Rich Asians” and “The Farewell” actress has a busy schedule ahead. She’ll appear in this December’s “Jumanji: The Next Level,” and she recently boarded the live-action remake of “The Little Mermaid”.
She’s also scored a role in Marvel Studios’ “Shang-Chi” with MCU Cosmic reporting that she’ll likely play the title character’s sister Fah Lo Suee who possesses the powers of hypnosis.
