Amazon has given its upcoming fantasy drama series “Carnival Row” a second season order, the renewal coming a full month ahead of the launch of the first season on August 30th.
Orlando Bloom and Cara Delevingne headline the eight-part series set in a Victorian fantasy world, a city with mythological creature immigrants whose exotic homelands were invaded by the empires of man.
Bloom plays Detective Rycroft Philostrate while Delevingne is refugee faerie Vignette Stonemoss. The pair rekindle a dangerous affair despite an increasingly intolerant society, Vignette also harbours a secret that endangers Philo’s world during his most important case yet: a string of gruesome murders threatening the uneasy peace of the Row.
A new teaser trailer for the new series is available below, the project hails from executive producers Bloom, Marc Guggenheim (“Arrow”), Rene Echevarria (“The 4400”), Jon Amiel (“Copycat”) and Travis Beacham (“Pacific Rim”).
