Nickelodeon is developing a preschooler-targeted animated series based on “Baby Shark,” Pinkfong’s viral kids video which has racked up nearly 2.87 billion YouTube views.
Pinkfong and Nick will co-produce the project which has no episode count or premiere date yet. Viacom Nickelodeon Consumer Products will manage consumer products licensing for the property worldwide, excluding Asia.
The news comes a day after Nickelodeon ordered new seasons of hit shows in the same demographic like “PAW Patrol,” “Bubble Guppies,” “Abby Hatcher” and “Butterbean’s Cafe”.
