2019 Oscars – Doco, VFX & More Shortlists

Following on from their foreign language picture finalists, The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences has announced the shortlist for multiple other categories including documentary feature, visual effects, original score, original song and make-up.

Here are the finalists with each category to be whittled down to either three or five nominees which will be announced on January 22nd:

On the doco front, notable snubs included “Bisbee 17,” “Divide and Conquer,” “Fahrenheit 11/9,” “Quincy” and “They’ll Love Me When I’m Dead”. On the visual effects front “Annihilation,” “Aquaman” and others all missed out even as Disney had practically all its films nominated.
