First Trailers: Clint Eastwood Is “The Mule”

Warner Bros. Pictures has released the first trailers for “The Mule,” Clint Eastwood’s latest directorial effort which sees him re-teaming with his “American Sniper” star Bradley Cooper.

Eastwood play Earl Stone, a World War II veteran in his 90s who is broke, alone, and facing foreclosure of his business when he is offered a job as a drug courier for a Mexican cartel.

After being assigned a menacing handler, Stone also attracts attention from DEA agent Colin Bates (Cooper). Diane Wiest, Michael Pena, Laurence Fishburne, Clifton Collins, Jr., and Taissa Farmiga co-star.

The project marks Eastwood’s first time both directing and acting in a project since 2008’s “Gran Torino” and is said to be tonally along the lines of that film.

“The Mule” is currently scheduled to open nationwide on December 14th.
