We had a teaser trailer back in March, and now Warner Bros. Pictures has released both a new second trailer and Comic Con-exclusive posters for “Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald,” the second of five planned “Harry Potter” spin-off films.
Eddie Redmayne, Katherine Waterston, Dan Fogler, Alison Sudol, Ezra Miller, with Jude Law and Johnny Depp star in the new film in which Grindelwald (Depp) has escaped custody and has set about gathering followers. In an effort to thwart his plans, Albus Dumbledore (Law) enlists his former student Newt Scamander (Redmayne) who agrees to help but is unaware of the dangers that lie ahead.
Lines are drawn as love and loyalty are tested, even among the truest friends and family, in an increasingly divided wizarding world. The trailer premiered during the Warner Bros. Pictures panel at San Diego Comic Con and comes ahead of the film which opens on November 16th. Depp himself turned up in costume, gave a brief speech in character, and left.
