Iconic 1990s “X-Men: The Animated Series” is set for a revival on the Disney+ service with the new run set to launch sometime in 2023.
The Wrap broke the news and says the series, currently going by the name “X-Men ’97,” will pick up where the five-season long original left off and will see several cast members from the original returning.
Some will reprise their original roles, while others will step into entirely new ones. Returnees include: Cal Dodd, Lenore Zann, George Buza, Adrian Hough, Christopher Britton, Catherine Disher, Chris Potter, Alison Sealy-Smith, Alyson Court.
Joining them are the likes of Jennifer Hale, Anniwaa Buachie, Ray Chase, Matthew Waterson, JP Karliak, Holly Chou, Jeff Bennett, AJ LoCascio.
Beau DeMayo serves as head writer and executive producer while writers Eric and Julia Lewald, and director Larry Houston will all serve as consultants.
