Summer Games Fest held its two-hour showcase today with a ton of trailers released along with a number of announcements.
The biggest news was that “Marvel’s Spider-Man 2” has locked down an October 20th release date. Meanwhile, “Final Fantasy VII Rebirth,” the second part of the remake trilogy, arrives on PS5 in early 2024.
Then there’s a new “Prince of Persia” coming, an old-school style action-adventure platformer take on the property releasing on January 18th 2024 for all major platforms.
Next is “Sonic Superstars,” a new 2D Sonic with co-op coming to all major platforms later this year. There was also a first look at gameplay from the highly anticipated “Mortal Kombat 1,” and a bit more gameplay from “Alan Wake II”.
The “Bloodborne”-esque “Lies of P” has set a September 19th release date, and will also be available on Game Pass. Akira Toriyama has delivered a new manga adaptation of the post-apocalyptic “Sandland”. There’s also another “Like A Dragon” game coming this year with ‘The Man Who Erased His Name’.
