With the Thanksgiving holiday weekend proving very slow for any news, Disney is using it to keep pumping out promotional material for “Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker” with a new trailer teasing an epic final battle along with a key shot of Carrie Fisher’s Leia.
The film also famously brings back Billy Dee Williams’ Lando Calrissian, reprising his role nearly 40 years later. Williams isn’t giving anything away, but was asked by Esquire recently what he thinks Lando might be doing in his later years.
Williams responded: “I always imagined Lando being like Steve Wynn, running Las Vegas. Because he’s a gambler. But he was a bit of a showman, a bit of an entrepreneur. That’s how I see Lando. I never necessarily saw him as a general running around shooting things.”
Will this be his last planned appearance as the character? Williams may be open to more: “It’s a conclusion — certainly it depends on how much money is generated. That’s when they determine where’s the conclusion. [He winks] The one thing about show business, you can resurrect anything.”
“Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker” hits cinemas on December 20th.
