Golden Globe winner Michelle Williams has confirmed to Yahoo that she will reprise her role as Anne Weying in the sequel to “Venom” at Sony Pictures.
Williams again join Tom Hardy, returning as Eddie Brock, in the project with the pair’s chemistry and somewhat off-kilter rom-com subplot often praised as the best part of the film – certainly more so than the main storyline.
Williams also expressed her excitement to work with director Andy Serkis: “I’m such a fan of Andy’s, and I’m so inspired by what he’s been able to accomplish. He’s so gifted in such a specific way, and I’m very excited to learn from him and be around him.”
“Venom 2” will mark the third feature film Serkis will tackle as director following “Breathe” and “Mowgli: Legend of the Jungle”. It is currently slated for an October 2nd 2020 release.
