The struggling The Weinstein Company has reportedly pulled three of its upcoming theatrical releases – “The War With Grandpa,” “The Upside” and “Mary Magdalene” – from their release schedule says Deadline.
‘Grandpa,’ starring Robert De Niro and Christopher Walken, was set for February 23rd. The Bryan Cranston-led ‘Upside’ was to open March 9th, and finally “Mary Magdalene” with Joaquin Phoenix and Rooney Mara, was set for a March 30th release. All three are now TBD 2018.
The delays aren’t unexpected as the company is in the midst of selling off its assets. TWC already postponed several upcoming releases last year including “The Current War” starring Benedict Cumberbatch.
