“Venom” Gets Kinky With “50 Shades” Scribe

Kelly Marcel, the screenwriter who adapted “50 Shades of Grey” for the big screen, has come onboard the “Spider-Man” spin-off “Venom” at Sony Pictures.

Additionally, Jenny Slate (“Gifted,” “Hotel Artemis”) is in talks to join the cast in the role of a scientist. Tom Hardy, Riz Ahmed and Michelle Williams are among the cast of the Ruben Fleischer-directed film about a photographer named Eddie Brock who becomes bonded with an alien symbiote.

The project is said to still be searching for an actor to play the psychotic symbiote Carnage who will serve as the film’s villain. “Venom” is set to open October 5th 2018.
