Trailer: Jolie’s “First They Killed My Father”

Angelina Jolie’s new directorial effort “First They Killed My Father” has released an official trailer ahead of its debut at the Toronto Film Festival next month.

The story, based on the memoir of the same name by Loung Ung, chronicles the journey of a childhood survivor of the Pol Pot regime during the Khmer Rouge years in Cambodia. Loung and Jolie share credit on the script.

The film has hit a bit of controversy this week over comments in a Vanity Fair cover story over the casting process. Jolie has spoken out about the article since.

“First They Killed My Father” is slated to debut on Netflix on September 15th.
