Squad Batman Supergirl More Dc Talk

A while back, actor Idris Elba was cast in James Gunn’s “The Suicide Squad” and at the time it was reported that he would be replacing Will Smith as Deadshot.

Then it became clear Gunn retooled that idea, penning a new role for the British actor but to this day there has been no word as to what the role might be.

Now a new report in Forbes indicates Elba is going to be playing Bronze Tiger who in the comics is considered one of the greatest martial artists in the DC Universe, a member of the League of Assassins, and is a sort of frenemy with Deathstroke.

Michael Jai White has played the Bronze Tiger role in The CW’s “Arrow” across several seasons.

The outlet’s report also offers several brief updates on a number of DC Films projects. They suggest Robin will be a character in Matt Reeves’ “The Batman” with additional role casting to be announced soon, and that the “Supergirl” film is tentatively expected to start production in the first quarter of 2020.

Separately, The New York Times spoke with actress Mary Elizabeth Winstead about the “Birds of Prey” film and she says: “I play this assassin who’s been trained since childhood. It’s all women and genuinely funny and weird. It feels from the 1990s, in the best way.”

Filming on “The Suicide Squad” is expected to kick off towards year’s end.
