Peter Jackson Shoots Down “Rings,” DC Talk

Last month came reports that filmmaker Peter Jackson was tossing up between two options as his next project – a DC superhero film at Warner Bros. Pictures or to get involved in Amazon’s proposed billion-dollar and five season long “The Lord of the Rings” TV series.

Speaking to French outlet Allocine this week, Jackson cleared the rumors saying he is not and hasn’t any plans to be involved with either possibility. First up, when asked about Amazon’s series he said:

“I’m not involved at all in the ‘Lord of the Rings’ series. I understand how my name could come up, but there is nothing happening with me on this project.”

Then when asked about the DC Comics movie report he says:

“That’s not true. I had no discussions about that. I’m not a fan of comics, I’ve never read any, so I’m not particularly interested in adapting one for cinema. That’s not true at all. I’m not involved in any DC film or Lord of The Rings series but I’m ok with it, I have plenty other projects that keep me busy!”

The only project Jackson is involved in the immediate future is “Mortal Engines” which he produced and which opens later this year.
