Ewan McGregor showed up at the Golden Globes last night and collected the Best Actor in a Limited Series award for his dual role turn in the third season of FX’s “Fargo”.
Doing press immediately after, it came as little surprise that someone asked him about the possibility of returning to the “Star Wars” franchise for the rumored Obi-Wan Kenobi spin-off film. He responded (via Heat Vision):
“There’s a lot of talk, and I’d be happy to play him again, but I don’t know anything more than you do. There’s a lot of talk. But it’s just that… There is no plan. I love the new one. I saw it over Christmas, it was really, really beautiful.”
A report last month suggested the film would be shooting at England’s Pinewood Studios starting January 2019 for a late 2020 release, while Stephen Daldry has been linked as a director. McGregor is currently in the midst of filming the Disney fantasy tale “Christopher Robin”.
