In August, Ben Affleck got social media all abuzz with a Twitter video of the Batman villain Deathstroke seemingly being shown aboard The Flying Fox, the aerial base set for the DC superheroes of Zack Snyder’s “Justice League”.
Production was underway for a good portion of last year on the film, which serves as a follow-up to “Man of Steel” and “Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice”.
Shortly after the video hit, it was confirmed that “True Blood” and “Magic Mike” actor Joe Manganiello had scored the role of Deathstroke. The mercenary character would be the primary antagonist in the Affleck-directed solo “Batman” film currently in development.
This week, following some confusion over some official concept art, Manganiello seemingly confirmed that the footage released was just a screen test for Deathstroke’s armor and not B-roll from “Justice League”. This would also suggest the character may not be in the “Justice League” film after all.
“Justice League” hits cinemas in November, the Affleck solo “Batman” film hasn’t yet set a date.
