A new one-sheet has been released for Luc Besson’s big-budget sci-fi epic “Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets”. The passion project of the filmmaker marks his first return to the space opera genre since 1997’s “The Fifth Element”.
Based on the classic European graphic novel series, “Valerian and Laureline,” Dane DeHaan and Cara Delevingne star are special operatives for the government of the human territories charged with maintaining order throughout the universe.
They embark on a new mission to the breathtaking intergalactic city of Alpha, an ever-expanding metropolis comprised of thousands of different species from all four corners of the universe – one under threat from within.
STX Entertainment is set to release the $180 million budgeted film in cinemas on July 21st.
