Lucasfilm has announced that in its first 24 hours of release, the full trailer for “Star Wars: The Last Jedi” racked up more than 120.1 million views acroess broadcast TV and social media platforms worldwide.
That makes it the fourth biggest trailer devbut of all time, and is 29.1 million more views than the film’s first teaser released back in April scored in its first 24 hours. Additionally there are 242,000 posts about the film on Twitter this week.
To put it in perspective it comes in behind only the teaser trailer for “IT” (197 million), “The Fate of the Furious” (139 million) and “Thor: Ragnarok” (136 million).
It’s unclear whether or not Disney and LucasFilm have plans for a third trailer before the film’s release, but with just two months to go – it’s looking unlikely.
There’s also rumor this week that a “Han Solo” teaser trailer has been cut, which includes the film’s as yet unannounced title, but no word on when we might see it.
“Star Wars: The Last Jedi” opens in U.S. theaters on December 15th 2017.
