First announced way back in late 2014, dystopian sci-fi feature “Replicas” starring Keanu Reeves seems to have found its footing again with a press release today indicating that Remstar Studios and UK-based Riverstone Pictures are teaming to produce the project which began shooting last week.
Reeves plays a scientist who loses his family in a horrific car accident. He brings them back by cloning them and soon a ruthless corporation discovers their existence and calls for their destruction.
Chad St. John (“London Has Fallen”) penned the script which will be directed by Jeffrey Nachmanoff (“Traitor”) and produced by Lorenzo di Bonaventura (“Transformers”), Luis Riefkohl (“Welcome to the Jungle”) and Stephen Hamel (“John Wick”).
Filming is underway in Puerto Rico with Montreal-based CineSite spearheading the visual effects.
