There’s hardly anyone in more demand these days than Keanu Reeves, in fact the demands for the man’s time are so high that his scheduling is beginning to become problematic.
Lance Reddick, who plays the Continental Hotel concierge Charon in the “John Wick” films, was asked by ComicBook.com recently for an update on how filming on a fourth “John Wick” is progressing.
The actor says it’s still early days but the project is hitting an issue due to Reeves having been booked for another fourth film in an action franchise:
“Last I heard, there wasn’t a script yet but that was a month ago. I know they’re working on it but part of the problem in terms of scheduling now is that Keanu signed on to do The Matrix 4 and he has the new Bill & Ted coming up. He has three franchises he’s juggling so I’m just not sure if he’s going to do The Matrix 4 or John Wick next.”
Reeves has already long finished shooting “Bill & Ted Face the Music” which opens August next year. Filming on a fourth “Matrix” is slated to kick off in February 2020 in Chicago and will probably keep Reeves busy through to the middle of Summer before the press tour for “Bill & Ted”. That means ‘Wick’ couldn’t shoot until late Summer or the Fall of 2020 – meaning it likely won’t reach its intended May 21st 2021 release date (but could achieve a Fall 2021 release).
