Netflix has teased that its acclaimed mental illness-themed family drama meets spook house horror series “The Haunting of Hill House” will return for a second season in 2020 titled “The Haunting of Bly Manor”.
Series creators Mike Flanagan and Trevor Macy, who have just closed a new TV production deal with Netflix, will return for the follow-up. The first season was self-contained and it has already been indicated the new episodes will boast a new story with all new characters – essentially making this an anthology series.
Titled “The Haunting of Bly Manor,” it is expected to use Henry James’ famed novel “The Turn of the Screw” as a loose template for its story in the same way the first season used Shirley Jackson’s “The Haunting of Hill House” for its story.
Flanagan and Macy will develop and produce new TV series for the streaming giant on an exclusive basis via their newly formed production company Intrepid Pictures.
