Guillermo Del Toro Lists His Fave Superhero Films

Filmmaker Guillermo del Toro has taken to Twitter to reveal his list of favorite superhero movies that doesn’t include any of his work (ie. the two “Hellboy” films, “Blade 2”) and the choices are overall pretty damn good with a mix of classics, recent titles and a few unexpected ones.

del Toro’s list, which was initially shared on Twitter, reads as follows with the only real obvious omissions being the other two Nolan Batman films and the second “Captain America”. Here’s the list:

Sam Raimi’s “Spider-Man” & “Spider-Man 2”
Stephen Norrington’s “Blade”
Richard Donner’s “Superman” and Lester/Donner “Superman II”
Tim Burton’s “Batman Returns”
Chris Nolan’s “The Dark Knight”
Ryan Coogler’s “Black Panther”
M. Night Shyamalan’s “Unbreakable”
Bryan Singer’s “X2: X-Men United”
James Gunn’s “Guardians of the Galaxy”
Jon Favreau’s “Iron Man”
James Mangold’s “Logan”
Patty Jenkins’ “Wonder Woman”

The Oscar-winning filmmaker isn’t expected to go back to comic book movies with a long-awaited stop-motion “Pinocchio” adaptation next for him for Netflix.
