The first photo has been released of Renee Zellweger playing show business legend Judy Garland in the biopic “Judy” from Pathe, BBC Films and Ingenious Media.
The story is set in 1968, shortly before her death, as Garland arrives in London for a run of sell-out concerts. The film documents the behind-the-scenes battles with management, her relationships with musicians and fans, and the unfolding family drama that provided the backdrop to the London performances.
British stage director and Tony nominee Rupert Goold is directing from a script by Tom Edge. Jessie Buckley, Finn Wittrock and Michael Gambon co-star in the film with principal photography now underway in the UK. David Livingstone produces.
