Feige On Spider-Man, Venom, Deadpool & Keanu

Feige On Spider Man Venom Deadpool Keanu

Marvel Studios chief Kevin Feige has begun doing some early press for the release of “Spider-Man: Far from Home” and with that comes the inevitable questions about the future of the MCU.

Feige is still staying pretty quiet about what’s in store slate-wise, but has taken the opportunity to shoot down some speculation and confirm some other talk.

First up, he touched upon crossover talk in regards to Spider-Man and two other characters that he’s linked to in the comics but not yet on screen – Deadpool and Venom.

Deadpool came with Disney’s acquisition of Fox and so now that the merger is complete, Marvel is obviously looking into the character and his potential incorporation into the MCU. That said, don’t expect a crossover anytime soon as he tells ComicBook.com: “I mean we’re certainly having conversations about the future of all of those Fox properties. How to weave them in and when to weave them in. That one [Spider-Man & Deadpool team-up rumor], in particular, is not the case.”

In regards to Venom though, Feige says the ball is entirely in Sony’s court, telling Cinema Blend: “I think probably it’s up to Sony. Sony has both those characters and, has Venom in their world. I don’t know what their plans are for another Venom or if they’re doing that. But it seems likely at some point.”

Then there’s Keanu Reeves who was linked to “Captain Marvel” at one time. Feige tells Comicbook.com that they’ve been trying to get the actor onboard for a while now: “We talk to him for almost every film we make. I don’t know when, if, or ever he’ll join the MCU, but we very much want to figure out the right way to do it.”

The comments come as the first reactions from junket press to “Spider-Man: Far from Home” have gone online, praising it and comparing it quality wise to the previous film “Spider-Man: Homecoming”. There are also some new clips from the film out which you can see below.
