Marvel Studios chief Kevin Feige appeared at an awards consideration screening of “Black Panther” this week and managed to offer some brief updates on the company’s various projects.
Speaking with Erick Weber, Feige confirms that we’ll see the first trailer for the fourth “Avengers” film sometime “before the end of the year”. As a point of comparison, ‘Infinity War’ launched its first trailer in November.
Asked about a potential “Namor: The Sub-Mariner” film, Feige says it could happen but they’re still deciding if they want to do it and if so, it’s a question of when to schedule it. Feige also confirmed that the official status of “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3” is “on hold” at this point in time.
The comments come as Frank Grillo appeared on a recent UFC Unfiltered podcast and confirmed his villain character Crossbones from “Captain America: Winter Soldier” and “Captain America: Civil War” will turn up in the fourth “Avengers” film in a flashback.
Additionally a set photo of Gwyneth Paltrow in an armored suit have cropped up at CBM, and filmmaker Spike Lee has confirmed to Screen Rant he will NOT be involved in a potential adaptation of the Marvel Comics title “Nightwatch” at Sony.
The next Marvel Studios release is “Captain Marvel” which hits in March next year.
