Doyle Could Return For “Halloween Kills”

When it comes to the “Halloween” franchise, there are your major characters like Michael Myers, Laurie Strode and Dr. Loomis, and then there’s supporting characters that often end up the victims on Myers’ blade.

Now a new rumor indicates one of the previous film’s survivors, the character of Tommy Doyle, could return. The Sneider Cut (via Bloody Disgusting) reports that co-writer/director David Gordon Green is planning to bring the character back into the fold for the recently announced “Halloween Kills”.

Doyle was one of the kids being babysat by Strode on that fateful night in 1978 when Myers attacked. Brian Andrews played him in the original, but the character is best remembered as the for being played by a young Paul Rudd in the sixth film “Halloween: The Curse of Michael Myers”.

Even though that film is no longer part of the official timeline, the outlet says there were talks to try and bring Rudd back for the character but his scheduling commitments to the new “Ghostbusters” prevented it. Instead, a new actor has been cast but whom that might be remains unknown at this point.

“Halloween Kills” will be released on Friday, October 16th 2020 and will be followed a year later by “Halloween Ends” on Friday, October 15th 2021.
