Disney has reportedly discreetly cut a ‘casting couch’ post-credits scene gag from “Toy Story 2” in the most recent re-release of the film on Blu-ray, DVD, Digital HD and 4K to coincide with the launch of “Toy Story 4”.
The edit is of one of the jokes in the film’s blooper-reel in which prospector character Stinky Pete leering at and offering two Barbie dolls a role in a film with the implicit return of sexual favors. You can see it in the clip below.
Casting couch allegations against powerful entertainment industry moguls made global headlines, sparked public discourse about sexual misconduct and in part led to the rise of the #MeToo movement.
Pixar’s own boss John Lasseter was the center of a high profile #MeToo moment after being accused of misconduct by multiple employees and left the studio last year.
