“Suicide Squad” director David Ayer and star Margot Robbie are set to re-team on “Gotham City Sirens,” the newly titled project which features a bunch of female villains from the DC Comics stable coming together.
Ayer will direct and produce the project with Robbie reprising her role as Harley Quinn and executive producing. The ‘Sirens’ comic focused on Harley, Catwoman and Poison Ivy – will those roles make the jump to the film?
Geneva Robertson-Dworet who penned the upcoming “Tomb Raider” reboot and a third “Sherlock Holmes” film, will pen the script while Geoff Johns and Jon Berg will produce.
The studio is still reportedly developing both a “Suicide Squad” sequel as well as a spinoff focused on Will Smith’s assassin Deadshot, but this is much further along than those two. Warners doesn’t have a release date for the film as yet.
