Are Nine “Star Wars” Films In Development?

Appearing at All Star Comic Con this past weekend, voice actor Tom Kane reportedly revealed that Lucasfilm has approximately nine “Star Wars” movies currently in development.

Kane, who voiced Yoda in “Star Wars: The Clone Wars” and Admiral Ackbar in “Star Wars: The Last Jedi” amongst others over the years, was reportedly counting both the Rian Johnson-directed trilogy and the Weiss & Benioff project in that total, along with J.J. Abrams’ “Star Wars: Episode IX” which begins shooting next month.

Beyond that it’s not clear what remaining movies Lucasfilm is planning, despite talk of films focusing on Yoda, Boba Fett and Obi-Wan Kenobi in their younger days – ideas that seem less likely in the wake of the disappointing “Solo” box-office.

The talk comes as last week George Lucas himself revealed what his plans for a “Star Wars” sequel trilogy would’ve been a trip into the microbiotic world where the ‘Whills’ feed off the Force and control the universe.
