“Zombieland” writer/director Ruben Fleischer has come onboard to direct the film adaptation of the indie comics title “Archer and Armstrong” at Sony Pictures and Valiant Entertainment.
“Pirates of the Caribbean” series scribe Terry Rossio is also on board for the action-comedy project about the unlikely friendship between Armstrong, a drunken self-styled philosopher and immortal warrior, and the teen prodigy Archer who has been trained since childhood to murder Armstrong.
Jason Brown, Sean Daniel and Dinesh Shamdasani will produce the film which is being developed in-house before being shopped to studios.
Valiant Entertainment is the comics publisher behind the likes of “Harbinger,” “Bloodshot” and “X-O Manowar” and has begun serious efforts to see their works adapted for the screen.
