Zom Com Warm Bodies Becomes A Tv Series

Lionsgate has closed a first-look film and TV deal with filmmaker Jonathan Levine (“50/50,” “Long Shot”) with the first project of it being a TV series adaptation of the 2013 zombie rom-com film “Warm Bodies” adapted from the novel by Isaac Marion.

The film focused on the development of the relationship between Julie (Teresa Palmer), a young woman, and “R” (Nicolas Hoult), a zombie, and how their eventual romance develops throughout. The film unfolds from R’s perspective and shows zombies displaying human characteristics.

Made on a budget of $35 million, it grossed over $115 million at the worldwide box office and snagged some pretty good reviews too. Rob Corddry, Dave Franco, Analeigh Tipton, Cory Hardrict and John Malkovich also star.

Levine’s new production company Megamix and Lionsgate Television will produce the series along with a diverse range of film and television projects as part of their long-term deal.
